The Vilas Team
John, Paul and Mark have been working together for over 30 years. Each is a true craftsman in every sense of the word. They may have their own levels of expertise at specific operations of the automotive engine rebuilding and machining process, but they work as a team in exceeding customers’ expectations. Other team members include Eric, Matt, and Julie. The teamwork all members give, allows them to strive for excellence for their customers around the Brazos Valley, Texas, Texas A&M Univeristy and even NASA. No job is too difficult or complex. When the Vilas team is working on your project rest assured it will be completed with a conscious drive to excel fueled by experience and precision craftsmanship.
John Vilas
The founder of Vilas Motor works. John is a College of Engineering graduate of Texas A&M University Class of ’79. He served in the US Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves. He is very active with his church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Bryan and has also serves on the Bryan High School Auto Tech Advisory Council. He is married to Julie and father of 5 girls who are very active in 4H activities.
Paul Hirschler
He has been working with John since May of 1987. He is a College of Agriculture graduate of Texas A&M University Class of ’85. He received his Master’s in Agriculture in 1987. He is the small engine specialists at Vilas and has vast knowledge of all machine, milling and lathe operations. He is married to Liz and father of Francis who is currently enrolled at A&M.

Mark Pauling
A graduate of Bryan High School, Mark is the cylinder head specialists at Vilas Motor Works. He has been working with John since 1987 and has received his on-the-job training through countless cylinder head rebuilds. He is married to Melissa and has one son.
Julie Vilas
She is John's better half and the office manager at VMW. When not at VMW you will find her involved with their church or supporting the various activities of their 5 daughters. Her hobbies include crocheting, sewing, and traveling.
Eric Parie
He been working with John since 2013 and serves as the customer service representative and also performs all brake drum/rotor turning. A father of 3 children he also volunteers for his son’s hockey team in his spare time.
Matt Miller
He is the newest member of the Vilas Motor Works team. Matt had the opportunity to turn his hobby into a profession and serves as the block machining specialist at Vilas. In his spare time, he likes to give others drumming and percussion lessons.
